Getting to Know . . . Jenna Dauer, Library Director

Please introduce yourself. What is your role at the library? How long have you been associated with the library?

Hello!  My name is Jenna Dauer and I have been the Smithton Public Library District library director for 10 and a half years now. In the wonderful goat picture above, I’m the one in the red t-shirt.

What is your favorite thing about the library?

I love interacting with our patrons to help them solve a problem or offer a fantastic recommendation. ❤

What is your favorite book, author or series? Why?

I really enjoy books by Emily Henry. She writes stories with relatable characters that I cannot put down! 📚

I also really enjoyed “Thank You for Listening” by Julia Whelan on audio. 🎧

What have you been reading/watching/listening to lately?

📚Reading: I just started reading “The Hiding Place” by Corrie Ten Boom
📽Watching: The Middle (TV Show)
🎧Listening to: “Remarkably Bright Creatures” by Shelby Van Pelt

What is one fun fact about you?

I got engaged to my husband in front of Nathan Fillion (of Castle fame) at a Comic Con in St. Louis. See article here.

What is your favorite color?

What is your favorite item that the library circulates?

I get the most enjoyment out of checking materials out to patrons who have anticipated them for a very long time. That joy is contagious.

I also think that it is pretty cool that we circulate mobile internet hotspots.
