Gushy love stories that I just couldn’t put down

The Wedding Date | Jasmine Guillory

Summary: When Alexa Monroe and Drew Nichols get stuck in a hotel elevator, Drew realizes Alexa would be the perfect last-minute plus one to his ex’s wedding. What was supposed to be a fake date turns into more by the end of the night. They realize there’s something about one another that is just too hard to resist. He heads back to his home in Los Angeles where he works as a pediatric surgeon, while Alexa heads back to Berkeley, where she is the mayor’s chief of staff. They quickly learn the struggles of being in high professions while also juggling the challenges of long distance dating. 

Gush Sesh: Writing about this book makes me want to read it over and over again. I found this book so hard to put down because you really engage with the characters. When their heart aches so does yours; when their over the moon so are you. The range of emotions leaves you wanting more. It’s the perfect love story that really ties in a lot of elements that are very similar to today’s dating world. 


Marry Me at Christmas| Susan Mallery

Summary: Madeline Krug, a bridal boutique owner, doesn’t except to fall head over heels for a bride’s famous brother, but when the movie star, Jonny Blaze, arrives at her shop she is star stuck. They take on the job of planning his sister’s dream wedding in the small town of Fool’s Gold. This leads them to planning over candlelit dinners and during strolls along the snow covered streets. Jonny didn’t come for love, but he catches himself falling for the small town girl. Will the small town girl end up with the movie star everyone has their eyes on? 

Gush Sesh: This book is a part of Susan Mallery’s Fools Gold series; it has a rating of 4.1 stars out of 5 on Goodreads. If you love Hallmark movies, this is the book for YOU! This book also has a movie made after it, Marry Me at Christmas. I reread this book every December (and maybe once in July LOL) and it still hasn’t gotten old. This book is such a cheery, gushy book. It makes you feel like a kid at Christmas all over again. It is the perfect Christmas love story. 


The Unhoneymooners| Christina Lauren

Summary: Olive is unlucky in every aspect of her life until, her twin sister and new brother-in-law get food poisoning at their wedding, maid of honor Olive, accompanied by her nemesis, the best man Ethan, assumes the role of a newlywed on a Hawaii honeymoon before unexpectedly falling for her companion.

Gush Sesh: This was the perfect summer romance in the dead of winter. Another one of my personal favorites. This book was rated a 3.98 stars out of 5 stars on Goodreads. If you like The Wedding Date, this would definitely be right up your alley. It has the perfect mixture of comedy and love.
